I began my legal career as a prosecutor at the Brooklyn District Attorney's office, prosecuting hundreds of misdemeanor and felony crimes before heeding the call of Justice and opening my own firm.
I started the Law Offices of Kenneth F. Smith in 2013, opening my practice in Brooklyn, New York. I opened the practice after observing firsthand the erosion of the criminal justice system. Since its opening, the Brooklyn practice has flourished. In 2018 I opened a second location across the river in New Jersey to expand the circle of people I can help..
Having spent so much time in courts and either litigating or preparing to litigate, it's natural that litigation remains a big part of the Firm's business, particularly in representing individuals who are facing persecution. You can read more about the Firm's areas of specialization here.
I also offer a suite of legal services to help people with other commonly encountered situations that many of my clients have asked for assistance with.
I am licensed to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey. I am admitted to Federal Courts including the United States District Court of New York, Eastern and Southern Districts, and the United States Tax Court. I am willing to represent individuals in any court, in any jurisdiction, in any matter from inception through appeal.
I am a proud husband and father. When I am not helping people I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, enjoying music, bicycling and the outdoors.
